.her lyrics.

sometimes i like to pretend that i have a talent. growing up, i always wanted a talent and was jealous of those kids who could sing, dance, who were artistic or musical.

my mom's standard explanation is that i was smart. ugh. what kind of boring talent was that?!
though much older and, er, wiser, now- i STILL want a talent!

so, please pretend that i am sitting on a bar stool in front of a quiet room, have my soft wooden acoustic guitar in my lap and am singing this song i wrote for babycakes. go ahead and close your eyes and imagine i sound like a mix of nora jones and alanis morisette (i'm not even being greedy by saying adele).

wondered and waited

oak hammocked days long ago
strolled plastic red carriages, oooh
wishes and predictions, of love in the making
tethering my hot air balloon hope on a string

waited and wondered
my full soul asunder
mosaic shards on display
your love sweeps my helium heart up, up, away

ballooning belly shouting my secret
a lifetime of love i haven't yet met

waited and wondered
my full soul asunder
mosaic shards on display
your love sweeps my helium heart up, up, away

chopsticks and fortunes, a break in the wait
painful breaths so deep, reality satiates
you're meeting the world little girl
and little girl, you're now my world

waited and wondered
my full soul asunder
mosaic shards on display
your love sweeps my helium heart up, up, away
